Cyberveilig Nederland, an interest group for the cybersecurity sector, has added Roos Dijkxhoorn of Purasec to its board. Roos will work alongside the current board, consisting of Steven Dondorp (Northwave), Kevin Jonkers (Fox-IT), Paul van Enckevort (TUV Nord) and Erik de Jong (Securify), to promote an optimal business climate in the cybersecurity sector in the Netherlands.
Cyberveilig Nederland was founded in 2018 with the aim of increasing quality and transparency within the sector. The organisation does this by, among other things, being involved in the pentesting quality mark, setting up the Cybersecurity Dictionary, writing white papers on ransomware and involving public-private partnerships such as AAN and the Cybersecurity Alliance.
According to Roos, as the owner of PuraSec, it is important to keep the threshold low for customers to get started with information security. ‘It is particularly important for us to ensure that we keep the threshold low for getting started with information security. The fact that I have been elected as a general board member of Cyberveilig Nederland indicates to me that the members also consider it important to convey the message of keeping cybersecurity services simple and accessible,’ says Roos.
According to Petra Oldengarm, director of Cyberveilig Nederland, Roos' addition not only increases diversity within the board, but also gives the board an extra active voice within the management of an SME cybersecurity company.
